Inspiration, it’s so often said, is found in the unlikeliest of places. When Paul T. Curran was called out to a remote tumbledown farm for a carpentry job, he’d expected nothing more than an ordinary day’s work. Walking into the remains of the farm’s workshop, however, something called out to him from the rubble: a collection of rusted, forgotten saws, spotlit by a sunbeam streaming through the broken roof. Inspiration struck like a bolt from the blue, turning the work trip into an artist’s salvage that birthed this collection. A deeply personal piece for Curran, “Create” represents this moment of artistic revelation — the unfurling of an idea from thin air, a dream alive with possibility and unburdened by limits, the tools to build it within reach if one only extends their grasp
